Happy Thanksgiving!

Four years ago this week, our family embarked on quite an adventure as we followed the Lord’s leading from the comforts of all that was familiar to us in the desert southwest, to the great unknown in the pacific northwest. Initially, we felt a bit like Abraham when God said “go to the land I will show you”! We didn’t know exactly where He wanted us to go, and we didn’t know anyone here. But we believed our loving, sovereign God was calling us here for a number of specific good reasons, and in these four years we have already seen many more good things that have come from His perfect plan to relocate us. We are so thankful for each and every one!

So each year at this time, we have started a family tradition where we recognize this special leading of the Lord in our lives with a traditional “Thanksgiving” feast. We prepare all the traditional Thanksgiving foods and invite some family members or friends to join us. Then, each of us write down all the blessings we are thankful for and put them in a container to be passed around and read at the dinner table. It has always been a very precious time of purposing to remember ALL that the Lord has done for us!

So in the next few days we'll. . . .

“ . . . continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.” ~ Hebrews 13:15

It is nice to know what the history was for that Thanksgiving that you have each spring. Guess I never quite realized the full meaning behind it.

You must have felt alot like Abraham when you left so many of your friends and family and unfamiliar surroundings. But with such a loving family as yours, it is easy to make new friends and some who even seem like family.

Cannot believe it has been four years already. We are so glad that it has been a positive experience as proof that God's hand was definitely in it. Why God even worked it out that you could have aunt Kelley and family close by. We sure do love you , Meemom

Hi Meemom!

It is hard to believe that it has been four years already that we moved from AZ! But we sure have missed you and Papa Bob a lot!

Indeed, our springtime "Thanksgiving" feast has become quite a special family tradition! We hope to have you and Papa Bob join us one of these years!

Since it was SNOWING this past Friday when we had our dinner, it felt more like the real Thanksgiving in the fall! It is supposed to warm up this week, so hopefully it will be perfect weather when you come here soon! :)

We love you so much!

Papa and I have wonderful fond memories of your 2006 Thanksgiving celebration when we were there to eat all that great turkey dinner with you. That was the ea that we suprised all of you at the ice cream shop. Remember: If you keep eating that cookie dough ice cream you'll get cookie dough buns! That was so fun. Also that was when you announced to us that Joseph was on his way to make "seven from heaven" in the Bowes family.

We love you all soooo much.

I also remember as we hid our faces behind the newspaper at the ice cream shop I said "I bet their milk shakes are not as good as Papa's" What a fun surprise that was,,but your surprise of Joseph on the way was huge.
Mising you all,,,Papa
