The Blessing of Spring ~ Part 3

By Victoria

Spring means fishing time is here! Both for us and the birds! I love to watch the osprey and eagles diving and hunting for fish over the blue, sparkling lake below us. (Sometimes they even bring back their dinner to eat it in our big tree!)

I also love seeing the new signs of life, such as the beautiful flowers in our garden that pop-up from the ground and the tall grass which feeds all the grazing animals.

In the bright, warm sunshine, we can also give the farm animals their spring cleaning, as we wash all the muddy marks of winter off their coats.

All this, while robins search for worms in our yard and the little grey birds make their nests for their babies which will be arriving soon!

Thank you, Lord, for spring!

By Timothy

I can be outside more to swing, ride my bike, and blow bubbles!

I love watching my sisters and brother fly their kites.

“Bro” can push me more in my fire truck.

I love hearing the frogs croaking!

I can play at the playground during “Bro’s” baseball practices.

Hi Victoria and Timothy,

It was fun to read your comments on spring. It sounds like there are many things around the Bowes farm that are very fun things to do when the grey skies turn blue.

Spring not only brings us a whole new season, but it allows us to reflect on the fact that we have a whole new life after this one ends.

One of the best times in the span of spring for me is the holiday that we celebrate as Easter. This allows us to reflect on the fact that we have a whole new life that was designed for us by the one who gave his life. Jesus arose again to prove to us that there is a new life at the end of our life here.
What a glorious time that we can celebrate during the spring time of each year. The only better thing would be to share this time with all of you. I love you all soooo much. Meemom

Hi Meemom!

Amen! Easter, or Resurrection Day, is the BEST part about the springtime! We loved your insightful thoughts about it! We will be writing our thoughts down about what Resurrection Day means to us soon. It is truly wonderful to meditate on what Jesus has done for us!

Can't wait to see you!

Valerie, for all of us

Miss Caroline you are right. Its great to lay in the grass and see the clouds make things. But it is even better to do it with a buddy. Lets lay down here and watch the clouds go by. Why look there goes an elegirion. What you ask is that. Why just look at that elephant head on a giraffe neck on a lion body. Only in a cloud will you see such a critter. I love laying in the grass with my buddy Caroline.

Miss Valerie lets ride our bikes together for a while. Look at all those swallows gathering twigs to make nests. I bet if you held out a fish an osprey would take it from your hand into the big tree. Just look over there in the field. Nothing but green grass. But wait look at those gorgeous tulip popping up ever where. What a glorious day with such beautiful things to see while being with my buddy Miss Huggy Bear.

Miss Victoria I Grandpa bet my fishing pole will catch bigger fish they yours will. Yuck we have to put worms on the hook. That’s easy for you. You are a critter getter. Lets throw out our lines and see what we can catch. Wow you caught a big fish but wait, I think I caught a whale. Look at that line bend. But my fish is coming in. Oh Oh!!! Its breaking the surface. That looks like the neck of the loch ness monster. Oh phoew its only a tree branch.

Mr Timothy I bet if you tried you could run that fire engine all the way to bustling Mossyrock and I bet we out could put out a fire. Well at least in our imagination.

Oh my goodness I, Grandpa loved spending a few minutes in my imagination with the bestest grandkids n the world. I will have to do that again tomorrow.

Love you all.
Grandpa

Why Miss Lydia the lambs are running and jumping. I will join you and we will run and jump. I bet I can jump on the tallest of the cable spools we got after eating Mexican food. Come join me. I bet I can run faster than you can. How bout a race down to the tree house and back. Boy you can run fast. You beat me by a mile. I loved my imaginary race even though you beat me. Maybe next time it will be my turn to win.

Hey Mr Kyle lets play some catch. You pitch and I will catch. I will just hunker down here like a catcher and you pitch it into my glove. Let her rip old buddy. Wow that hurt my hand. I bet that pitch traveled faster that Randy Johnson can throw it. It was great playing imagine catch with the bestest pitcher in the world. Wait how come my hand is still hurting as I sit here and type this note. I am not imagining that. Maybe some times our imagination may become real.

Love you all big bunches!!!

Wow....Grandpa really got in on the action. He was able to see strange animals, catch a REALLY big fish, ride a bike and hold a fish for the osprey, run a race in the pasture, race a fire engine all the way to Mossyrock and be the catcher in baseball. Guess I will close my eyes and sit in my favorite chair and see what all I can see and do today!!! I want to spend time with you all too!!!! Love, Meemom

Hi Gabe!

Yes, lakes are fun! That is one reason why we love Washington so much. We also love mountains, and Flagstaff has some awesome ones! We remember going on a fun hike in the mountains with you and your parents. That was fun!

As you enjoy springtime there, can you soak up some sunshine for us? Thanks!
